photo hunting ~ bright

Last Sunday, after taking Lile home to Lake Tahoe....we took the long way through the back roads of Highway 4. Dropping into the valley we saw this amazing sunset. Although beautiful...it was created by the dense smoke from the many wild fires burning in this part of California. While the sunset was stunning over this farmstead...it reminds me of the devastation elsewhere....

(the photograph is totally untouched and un"shopped"...it portrays exactly how the sun looks thru the blanket of smoke that hovers everywhere)

It has been quite a while since I participated in Tennessee Chick's Saturday Photo Hunt. I have looking at this picture for the past few days....and thought it would be fit this week's theme of "Bright." Take a moment to visit some of her other photo hunters...

Ohmygosh.....
What gorgeousness bourne from the fire (literally and figuratively).

Kinda like that rainbow after the storm, yaknow?

I've been in awe at the sunsets and sunrises G-d's give us these past few weeks....seems He's ever reminding me it's a new day filled with promise and hope.
(thankgoodness for the reminders--elsewise I'd be going through a whole lotta sticky notes.) ;-)

*hugs and love and all good things*

It's beautiful, but I'm right in the middle of it and I'm tired of all the smoke. Last week we were in and out each day. We'd come home and our eyes were burning and our lungs and throat were irritated. Thank God we are healthy. I hope we can have some relief soon. Have a great weekend Katherine. Big hug. :)

That is truly stunning. Just looking at it calms me. Thank you sooo much for sharing. It has a spiritual sense to it and your description is perfect.

So sad to hear about all of these fires! This is a beautiful shot, though.

Fire season just seems to get worse every year.

From destruction sometimes comes beauty and that sunset is gorgeous.

Every time I see a news show and they talk about the fires out there on the West Coast I cringe as I think of so much beautiful land being burned to cinders and ash.

I worry about Sandee and Cyndi and everyone else out there who has to breath the smoke and acrid air that covers the Central Valley right now.

Come on rain!!! Help these people out!
