I have my glasses on and I'm not sure what I'm seeing.
here in my little part of the world the beautiful Manzanita trees grow around the Redwoods.
This is a picture of a branch with the very distinctive orange peel-y bark with the fresh green wood beneath. A bit of lichen is growing on the branch as well.

That is a pretty branch, have never seen anything like it. Didn't know what it was until I read your comment.
Have never seen the Redwoods, either. Would love to someday!

I've never seen a tree like that before. Incredible. I'm used to my trees being plain old brown or grey, I like the idea of one with orange bark.
I knew it was a branch of something, then I read your explanation. Beautiful coloring.

Sycamore trees have peely bark like that, but not nearly so pretty.

I've heard of them, but I've never seen one. That's an interesting looking tree.
