In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all of my October Thursday Thirteens are "pink." This last week is where Breast Cancer touches my heart.

on a somewhat lighter note...two of my favorite reads have posts which are of similar subject matter:

both of them give really good reasons for keeping up with your monthly self exam and annual mamogram....smile.

Reading the list, words escape me.
I think that's good.
Thank you.
Excellent list!
Mine is not for the faint of heart but also worthwhile.
Smooch
Great post. Breast cancer runs in my family. I get mamograms done regulary.
Thanks for keeping the awareness up.....I get mine!
Peace
Wonderful list, Katherine. Disease knows no boundaries - racial, ethnic, religious, or economic.
My family has been quite fortunate in this area. Cheers!!
Strong women...
Fantastic way to remind us to take care of us.
Happy thirteening!
I was moved by this. Says it all.
Speechless.
What an awesome tribute. My Mother is battling Non Hodkins Lymphoma right now (cancer of the lymph nodes)...I think all cancer survivors should be given praise. Its not an easy battle and I am amazed at my mothers strength every day. Thanks for giving a shout out and for stopping by. Happy TT.
This month you really have paid amazing tribute to everyone who has ever even known someone with breast cancer...
The last one is your mother? What a beautiful post and tribute to all these women. Have a great TT. :)
Very informative TT. I wish I had something more to say but I started doing my TT rounds too late today and I'm heading rapidly to being incoherent and not getting round everyone who left a comment on mine.
My very special wishes to the last mother on the list.
Oh Katherine.... the last one is your Mom.
Big ((hugs)) from me.
I think that #13 is the most important of all though I don't wish to diminish any of the ladies before her.
Came over from Bond's blog. Powerful post. Well done.
Great job on this one. What an awesome idea. :)
Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a good Thursday.
Thanks for helping to spread the awareness on this very important topic. I seem to remember reading about the cancer battles of Betty DeGeneres and Virginia Clinton Kelley.
EXCELLENT list Katherine...Mom suffered from non-hodgekins lymphoma, and beat it... and we have not been touched by Breast cancer, but have the link up on The Couch and have for a long time...
Well, I'm sure I posted about breast awareness...just of a slightly different kind.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha
My paternal grandmother beat breast cancer in her 50's, but then lost the battle with lung cancer later in her life. And Pam lost her mom to it.
