photo hunting ~ purple

Wisteria has a very special place in my heart.  It only blooms for a few weeks each year. In the winter it seems to go dormant and the endlessly entwined branches are nature’s art at it’s finest.

I actually have been surprised at how many people have posted wisteria. don't know why I'm surprised, it is such a beautiful purple flower. Maybe it is because my wisteria has only bloomed once in 12 years. . . but I did find something purple to post without it.

What a beautiful arranagement of such a difficult color to do such justice to, so easily.

By easily, I mean your efforts make the image look eforrtless. Just so you know. That's what real work produces.

It is beautiful to look at but I've always wondered if it's a hassle to clean around. I am looking forward to see what happens on Wisteria Lane Sunday night (Desperate Housewives). :)

I'm sure you realize I live in Iowa.
Wisteria isn't one of our plants.
Go figure.

At this moment--nothing is blooming around here.
Absolutely 'bugger all', as himself would say.

*sigh*

The good news?
You run really, really fast.

I heard something about wisteria on the radio the other day and I was just wondering what it looked like. Now I know.

Knott's Berry Farm used to have Wisteria hanging on trellises that seemed to me a full block long. The scent would catch in the air and was heady! I always think of that magical arbor every time I see Wisteria!
(Should explain - my folks ran a biz at Knott's)

My mother loved wisteria. It has a very short but beautiful season here.

That's really quite lovely.

We have one of those out front. I had it propped up with some stakes (and Caution tape for some reason), but when it bloomed it got so heavy that the whole thing is just kind of hanging there, looking sort of sad. It is beautiful though.
