photo hunting ~ bridge

I love looking at this bridge.
I have driven on it, flown over it, sailed under it.
The Golden Gate is amazing....

sf post ggI took this early morning shot a couple weeks ago during a little birthday trip to The City.  We were visiting Fort Point, which was built in the 1850's and one of my favorite tourist locales.

Tennessee Chick runs the band of Photo Hunters...there are really great offerings this week for those of you who are as enamored of bridges as I am. (next week's theme is nautical....)

Bridges make me cringe, but I have, in fact, walked over and back on that bridge...about 30 years ago.

I've driven over it, sailed under it with our own boat while I was driving, and I've walked across it. It is indeed a wonderful bridge.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

I love the picture you ook, the composition, and the thought you put into it. Very well conceived, and beautifully executed.

I look forward to your nautical contribution.

mike: glad you saw the link.

DS: I have stood on it at the edge...but never walked over it...hmmm....

Sandee: I was piloting the boat I was on too...pretty cool!

JyLnC: thanks...I'll be over in a bit.

Travis: if you and Pam come visit we can walk together!

Powers: a drive up the coast this time of year would be beautiful.

Michele: thanks - it is worth a trip!

CEO: thanks. I had a good day. I'm not much of a sailor...so...

Mel: I love the ocean ya know...but your iced forests are equally lovely.

Teamster: yeah...ya think a chick from tennessee would know NASCAR begins. Glad you liked the tourist day.

Alice: it is a classic.

Jeff: thanks. Your boys would probably love Ft Point. You can go on all three floors and the roof. Canon demos. Confederate Reenactment. All for free!

ILTV: come visit...I'd be your tour guide...smile.

It's funny that even though I lived in California for many years, the only time that I have ever driven over the Golden Gate was during my visit there last year when I met up with you and Sandee. MizCyn and I took a short jaunt north of the city and ended up in Napa on a Sunday afternoon.

Next time I get back out that way, I'm going to have to see if she'd like to walk across the bridge and maybe even visit Fort Point. Of course, I'm just not sure when "next time" might be though I really do wish it was going to be soon!

It's a great bridge, especially on a foggy night, the fog shifting and swirling around the lighted columns.

My buddies and I sail the bay all the time, but haven't sailed under it yet (at least not with me in the boat - I think some of my buddies have ventured out).
